Understanding the Effects of COVID-19 on Agriculture in Northern Ontario

Emily Potter, Executive Director

The Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance has collaborated with Collège Boréal, the University of Guelph, Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council and the Rural Agri-Innovation Network to study these challenges and opportunities that have surfaced as a result of the pandemic. This study will allow the partners to identify and respond to the needs of agri-businesses across the north.

The research team has created a survey to help identify the needs of agri-businesses across the north. The results from this survey will allow the partner organizations to support production, distribution and marketing activities during the pandemic and to provide evidence-based recommendations for agri-businesses and policymakers in the future and enhance supports in the long-term.

For more information about this initiative, please visit Collège Boréal's website.
